The lowest advertised tow is often the most expensive arrival. Here is how to vet a company in the ten minutes after you break down, including what to ask and what to refuse.
A price you can repeat back
If they will not say hookup plus miles to a destination you name, hang up. 'We'll know when we get there' is how surprise invoices happen. Our hookup is $50. Miles are quoted against the drop you choose. If that total is higher than another company that will also put the number in a text, take the other company. Cheap is the total, not the vibe.
The destination belongs to you
A common pattern is a cheap hook and a mandatory drop at a yard that charges storage by the hour. You should be able to name a shop, a dealer, or a driveway. If the driver will only go to 'our facility,' you are not buying a tow — you are buying a pipeline into storage. Ask the lot name and the daily rate before the wheels leave the ground.
