What happens on a crash call
If police are on scene, the vehicle often cannot move until they release it. We stage where the officer points, not in a live lane. Fluids, broken glass, and deployed airbags mean a rollback, not a wheel-lift dragging a damaged steering rack. If the car is against a barrier or in a median, that is a winch and a second person, not a $50 hook with a smile. Dispatch will ask whether anyone is injured, whether lanes are closed, and which lot the insurance or owner wants.
Insurance, storage, and your copy of the bill
If your insurer is directing the tow, we still quote you the same way: hookup plus miles plus any recovery labor. You should leave with a destination (body shop, insurance lot, or home) and a number, not a mystery storage yard that charges by the day without telling you. Ask us the lot name and the daily storage rate before we roll if the car is not going to a shop you chose.
Interstate and high-speed corridors
A stall in a travel lane on an urban interstate is treated as a hazard, not a convenience tow. Shoulder width, HOV restrictions, and local DOT stop-and-tow rules vary by city — those details live on each location page because a Cross Bronx stall is not the same job as a desert shoulder on I-10.
