A car in a ditch, in beach sand, or high-centered on a flooded ranch road is a recovery, not a hook. We still start at $50 and quote the extra labor before the truck leaves.
What a winch-out actually is
A winch-out is controlled pulling with a line, snatch block, and a second anchor when the truck cannot get behind the vehicle. Time on scene depends on soil, slope, and whether the car is still on its wheels. We will not yank a car by the bumper cover to 'save you money' and then hand you a torn fascia.
City-specific recoveries
Hill-country limestone, lake-effect snow, desert sand, coastal flooding, and downtown spiral garages are different jobs. That is why each city page describes the local failure modes instead of repeating a national paragraph about 'off-road recovery.' If you are in a market with beaches, mountains, or freeze-thaw, read that city's conditions section before you assume a standard wrecker can reach you.
